Harvest Collection - Winchester Basics Bank

As autumn approaches, we traditionally turn our thoughts to Harvest, and in the past you have been kind enough to donate food items for the Harvest collection in aid of the Winchester Basics Bank. This year we will be sharing a Virtual Harvest Service with the children in school on Friday 16th October.

Due to the fantastic ongoing generosity of the local community, Winchester Basics Bank currently find themselves in the fortunate position to have sufficient stock of most food items and ask that you only donate the items that they are in specific need of:

  • Tinned fruit (no grapefruit nor prunes)

  • Tinned veg

  • Tinned ravioli/spaghetti

  • Sweetcorn

  • Pies (Fray Bentos or similar)

  • Coffee (small jars or refill bags)

  • Squash

  • Shower gel

  • Cleaning Spray

  • Cat food (Wet or dry)

They are kindly asking you not to donate dried pasta, soup, baked beans, tinned tomatoes or UHT milk as they already have plenty of these items. Also, they cannot accept homemade food or items past their best before date.  Please note, if you do donate Winchester Basics Bank may share your donations with other local charities such as Trinity or the Nightshelter and other local food banks.

There will be a box for donations outside the office from Monday 12th October to Wednesday 14th October. Many thanks for your support with this.
