







Friends of Stanmore - Cake Sale
Please can Year 1 and 2 provide us with lovely cakes and bakes!
All donations must be NUT FREE AND INCLUDE A FULL LIST OF INGREDIENTS.
If any bakes do not have a list of ingredients then we cannot sell them. You can drop off your bakes into the office on the morning of the sale and pick up any named tupperware the next morning, again from the office. Thank you for your support.





Carols in the Courtyard
Carols in the Courtyard is due to go ahead at 14:30 on 20 December 2019.
We will keep an eye on the weather and if anything changes we will notify everyone at 13:00.
The school community is invited to come together to join the children in singing Christmas Carols in the Courtyard.
We’ll be singing these songs, so please feel free to practise :)

Christchruch Service
Once again the school will celebrate as a community at Christchurch. Parents and carers are welcome to support and join the service.

Parent meeting - Keys for Success - School improvement meeting
All parents are carers are invited to this session where we will be sharing our school improvement journey so far.
This meeting will take the form of an informal presentation where members of the staff team will share different aspects of our school improvement work.
We will also be able to share our key priorities for the academic year.
We look forward to seeing you all in the school hall.

Year R, 1 & 2 - Reading meeting for parents
This meeting will give parents more information on the reading scheme we use in Reception and Key Stage 1. It will provide you with strategies and tools for helping your children read.

Meet the teacher
Parents and carers are invited to come and meet with your child's class teacher. This will be an informal opportunity for you to familiarise yourself with your child's new teacher and their classroom.

90th Anniversary - Afternoon tea party
Our school buildings opened in 1929, and to celebrate 90 years of the school being on this site we are hosting an afternoon tea party.
If you attended the school, worked in the school, or supported the school in any way during its history, we are inviting you to join us on Friday 19th July 2019 to help us celebrate as a community.
The children will be providing entertainment, displaying their 90th anniversary art work, along with displays of the history of the school. Of course there will also be a cup of tea or coffee for our guests.

Please book an appointment for either Tuesday 27th (3.30pm-7.00pm) or Thursday 29th November (3.30pm-6.00pm) for all children from Early Years (Ladybirds and Bumblebees) to Year 6.
The evenings will give you the chance to look through your child’s books and discuss their successes and next step targets. If your child has special educational needs provision, Mrs Greenwood will be available in Cedar Class; if you wish to meet to discuss your child.
Ladybirds and Bumblebees Class- Miss Shepherd will be meeting all EYFS parents. Year R parents can book on either Tuesday or Thursday to meet Miss Shepherd.
Sycamore Class - Miss Norris will be meeting Year 4 parents.
Rowan Class - Mr Read will only be taking appointments for Thursday 29th November. If this date is not convenient for you, please speak to Mr Read; who will be happy to arrange an appointment with you after school the following week.

Anti-bullying assembly 2
'Choose respect' is our theme for Anti-Bullying week next week. On Friday 16th November, we are inviting staff and children to wear blue. There is no charge for this.
The children will be sharing the work covered during Anti-Bullying week at two parent assemblies on Friday 16th November. Class details as follows:
Maple Class (Miss Young), Hazel Class (Miss Bryce), Birch Class (Mrs Haumann), Aspen Class (Mrs Horkan) and Elm Class (Mrs Kempson).
